Garden Revamp

We want to make the most of our outside space so All Saints’ children can experience a stimulating environment where they can get active, be free in messy play, and develop interests in the outside world. To do this we would love to create:

  1. A sheltered quiet area that can be used year round to give children the opportunity to take a break from the rough and tumble of the playground, to watch, read, reflect, play quietly, take time to practice social skills and learn;

  2. A climbing area that can be used year round for children to develop strength, balance, relationships and games. We know that children's shoulder and core strength is a vital part of developing the motor skills they will need for writing at school later on.

  3. New home and growing areas, where children can learn and develop their social skills, role play, fine motor skills and appreciation of the outside world.

  4. New larger wooden shed. a shed that can be safely accessed by all children and boxes of clearly marked toys and equipment.

For the preschool and all the community who use the church garden we would really love the opportunity to make this space the best it can be. We envisage creating a beautiful sheltered area which is a cosy, festival-feel relaxed space for people to sit and talk or watch others. All our new resources will be as high quality as possible, using natural materials wherever we can.

We are really excited that the Postcode Community Trust has seen the potential of our project and awarded us £2000 to help fund building the quiet area and buying a new climbing frame. Postcode Community Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery

Also a very BIG thank you to Winchester Round Table's Santa Sleigh for their help with our fundraising for this project.
